Sin que autoridad alguna informara, un ocelote (Leopardus pardalis<\/em>), especie en peligro de extinci\u00f3n seg\u00fan la Norma Oficial Mexicana NOM-059-SEMARNAT-2010, fue encontrado muerto esta ma\u00f1ana tras ser atropellado a pocos metros de la caseta La Venta en la Autopista del Sol con direcci\u00f3n hacia Acapulco.<\/p>\n

De acuerdo con publicaciones medi\u00e1ticas, el ejemplar felino habr\u00eda sido arrollado por un veh\u00edculo que no fue identificado que se dirig\u00eda hacia el libramiento para la Costa Grande. Aparentemente el conductor detuvo la marcha y retir\u00f3 el cuerpo sin vida del felino del carril de velocidad baja hacia el acotamiento.<\/p>\n

El felino muerto permaneci\u00f3 durante muchas horas en ese lugar a escasos 500 metros de la caseta de cobro La Venta. El cuerpo del animal era de aproximadamente un metro de longitud y unos 12 kilogramos de peso.<\/p>\n

El ocelote es una especie reguladora del ecosistema conocida por controlar las poblaciones de presas peque\u00f1as y medianas, pero enfrenta serias amenazas debido a la p\u00e9rdida de su h\u00e1bitat, cacer\u00eda furtiva y el tr\u00e1fico ilegal de su piel y colmillos.<\/p>\n

En M\u00e9xico, el ocelote habita principalmente en zonas boscosas y selvas, siendo avistado en \u00e1reas como el Parque Nacional El Veladero, cerca del lugar del incidente.<\/p>\n

La especie es clave para la conservaci\u00f3n de los ecosistemas y se encuentra protegida bajo el Ap\u00e9ndice I de la Convenci\u00f3n sobre el Comercio Internacional de Especies Amenazadas (CITES).<\/p>\n

Seg\u00fan algunas publicaciones, un bi\u00f3logo que se trasladaba a Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo a un congreso nacional inform\u00f3 que el hecho ocurri\u00f3 cerca de las seis de la ma\u00f1ana, en la v\u00eda con direcci\u00f3n a Acapulco.<\/p>\n

En todo el d\u00eda ni la Semarnat ni ninguna autoridad estatal o municipal hizo alg\u00fan pronunciamiento alguno y ni siquiera se fueron a asomar para indagar qu\u00e9 hab\u00eda ocurrido con ese ejemplar catalogado oficialmente en peligro de extinci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
